A man has stumbled upon a rare $2 ‘Firefighter’ coin featuring a ‘bullseye error’ while collecting his spare change from a service station. This unique find has sparked amazement, as he took to social media to inquire, “Is this a rare find?”

The coin, minted in 2020 to commemorate the courageous firefighters who battled Australia’s devastating Black Summer bushfires in 2019, portrays two firefighters with a flame between them.

What makes this coin particularly special is the minting mistake known as a “bullseye error.” Here, the flame is incorrectly printed on the opposite side of the coin, obscuring the image of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

According to Yahoo Finance, a pristine version of this coin previously fetched an impressive $5,950. However, the service station find may have been worn from circulation, reducing its value. Coin expert Matthew Thompson noted that while nobody knows the exact quantity of these errors, their rarity adds to their collectability and appeal, making them a fascinating topic for both collectors and enthusiasts alike.
