Newly-appointed Tasmanian Devils football club CEO Brendon Gale, says he would like to see the new Tasmanian AFL team make its VFL debut next year, rather than in 2027 in the lead-up to joining the AFL.
Gale, who officially started his new job last week, says he thinks two years in the VFL, starting next year, will be a better preparation for entry into the AFL.
The former Richmond Football Club CEO says he’ll have to run it by the AFL, but he says he will make getting Tasmanian teams into both the VFL and VFLW next year one of his main priorities.
