Hillcrest verdict delayed until June

Families of the six children killed and three others seriously injured in the Hillcrest Primary School Tragedy will have to wait another three and a half months to get some answers

The tragedy happened on December 16, 2021, when a gust of air blew an inflatable jumping castle and zorb balls into the air.

The matter was back in the Devonport Magistrates Court on Monday following a two-week hearing in November.

The prosecution and defence read their sentencing submissions before Magistrate Robert Webster, who adjourned the matter for decision on June 6th.

An inquest into the tragedy has yet to be held pending the outcome of the criminal case.
