A young girl has died following a devastating house fire on Hobart’s Eastern Shore, which also claimed the life of her baby sister.
Police say the five-year-old girl died in the Royal Hobart Hospital from injuries sustained in the house fire at Rokeby on Sunday morning. The fire also killed her 22-month-old baby sister.
A 30-year-old also injured in the blaze remains in a stable condition in the Royal Hobart Hospital.

A 16-month-old, 10-year-old and 14-year-old have all been discharged.
Fire investigators say the cause of the fire was accidental and that there were no suspicious circumstances.
A report is being prepared for the coroner.
