Addressing a $25 billion investment backlog by ramping up the clout of the Coordinator General to drive projects is the plan from Tasmania’s Labor leader.

In his budget reply Dean Winter’s identified $150 million in savings, while listing off developments the Liberals haven’t delivered.

“The Cradle Mountain Cableway, the next iconic walk, a Northern prison, a replacement for Ashley Youth Detention Centre, duplicating the Charles Street Bridge, Macquarie Wharf, Burnie Port, Devonport Port, mental health beds, the Royal’s (Hobart Hospital) new expanded Emergency Department and a $580 million redevelopment of the Launceston General Hospital, these are promises that have been broken.”
